today announced the version 2.0 release of its innovative Medical Cost Estimator, a
component of Enwisen’s AnswerSource Benefits Decision Support suite. AnswerSource
Medical Cost Estimator leverages Web 2.0 standards to provide innovative
enhancements to help employees model costs – based on their family’s particular
healthcare requirements – to better understand plan options and select the plan that
best fits their specific family needs.

The AnswerSource Medical Cost Estimator 2.0, available September 15, 2008, (get a

enhancements:

Ability to save a medical cost model before leaving the calculator tool, allowing
users to preserve all modeling components and continue modifying their model after
they return to the estimator – for example, to discuss options at home with a spouse
or partner.

Users now get a comprehensive representation of their relevant cost models by
exposing both adjusted as well as unadjusted costs. Adjusted costs now include
various plan and contribution logistics such as employer contributions, HSA and FSA.


Users can model the impact of HSA and FSA contributions by specifying their actual
contribution amounts directly within the estimator interface.

New ability to edit per-unit service costs allows users to personalize the medical
cost model to their specific service costs.

A newly available summary plan view brings all important cost components for a
specific plan into one view, with adjusted and unadjusted cost details, as well as
granular parameters related to the medical services used per family member within
that plan.

Help content has been enhanced to provide a more in-depth guide to the wealth of
newly available features.
