Press Release Body: (Kansas City, Kansas, 6/07/08)— Jody Summers, a Kansas City
author, released his first novel in March, DARK CANVAS. As a result of an unusual
set of circumstances, Jody has been moved to pledge a portion of his revenues from
this first endeavor to support the National Fibromyalgia Association. Each book sale
will help to further research and awareness on this insidious and painful
neurological disorder.

DARK CANVAS is a gripping romantic thriller centering around a recently retired
model that picks up the paint brushes of her youth and comes up with the unique idea
of mixing the ashes of the deceased, which she calls cremains, with her paints to
produce tribute paintings. She subsequently finds she is receiving images from the
subjects of her paintings which start out innocuous enough then become increasingly
terrifying and possibly deadly.

Mr. Summers was quoted as saying, ”I’ve loved writing all my life and have written
poetry since I was a kid, but after meeting someone who actually does these
paintings and was stricken with Fibromyalgia, the idea for the plot was too
compelling not to write. Now I’m finding I can’t get enough of writing. In the three
years since I began writing DARK CANVAS I’ve not only finished it, but am on my
second rewrite of the sequel THE MASK MAKER and three quarters of the way through
the first draft of a third novel, a religious thriller, that I should finish later
this year. I’m hoping to use each of my novels as a springboard to help a particular
cause.”

You can order DARK CANVAS now through thousands of Internet websites including
iUniverse.com, BarnesandNoble.com or Amazon.com.
