Business Marketing Association of the Hudson Valley to Honor SUNY New Paltz President at 2nd Annual Business Leadership Awards Ceremony

Press Release Summary: The Business Marketing Association of the Hudson Valley
(BMA-HV) will hold its second annual Marketing Leadership Awards Event on June 17,
at the Poughkeepsie Grand Hotel. The recipient of this year’s award will be Steven
G. Poskanzer, President of the State University of New York at New Paltz. The award
presentation ceremony will take place during a special awards breakfast beginning at
7:30 am, and it will be followed by a presentation from Mr. Poskanzer.

Press Release Body: Says Bud Clarke, BMA-HV President, “Steven Poskanzer’s vision
and dedication have created enormous prestige for SUNY New Paltz, and that, in turn,
has resulted in significant business growth in our region. If you want to understand
how one led to the other, you need to come to this incredible event honoring Mr.
Poskanzer and celebrating the business highlights that continue to make the Hudson

addition to accepting our most prestigious award, Mr. Poskanzer will present the
much awaited results from the 2007 SUNY New Paltz Economic Impact Study. The
information this study provides should be of enormous interest to anyone living or
working in the Hudson Valley, and especially those involved in marketing.”

Steven Poskanzer became president of SUNY New Paltz in May 2003. He is a scholar of
higher education law, with a broad range of administrative experience at both public
and private universities and colleges. A graduate of Princeton and Harvard, Mr.
Poskanzer sits on a number of boards, including the Mid-Hudson Pattern for Progress,
Mid-Hudson Technology Council, Mohonk Preserve, St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital,
Commission on Leadership and Institutional Effectiveness, and the American Council
on Education. His extraordinary contribution to the integration of higher education
and community affairs has directly impacted the economic growth of the Hudson
Valley.
Jonathan Drapkin, the president and CEO of Pattern for Progress, will introduce Mr.
Poskanzer. The mission of Pattern is to \"preserve and promote the social, economic
and natural environments of the Hudson Valley region by building consensus for a
pattern of growth that will insure a high quality of life.\"

Interested business professionals and those involved in marketing decision-making

cost is $25 for those who register by June 9 and $30 for post-June 9 registration.
