Family of Young Man killed in pick up crash files Wrongful Death

Los Angeles, California, June 6, 2007 – The killed man was Gary De Piero who died at
the age of 20 years old from massive internal injuries that resulted when a 1996 GMC
Sierra model of pickup being driven by Jason Hammond, crashed into Montreal Street’s
two poles of hydro. This was last May 2, 2005.

De Piero’s mother, Karen, stepfather, Norman Trewin and sister, Patricia, as
plaintiffs for the Wrongful Death suit, declared in court papers that even though
the amount they are demanding would not bring De Piero’s life back, it is a way to
deal with his loss. Representing them is Brian Babcock.

The defendants were composed of seven persons, which the Sierra pickup’s driver
Jason Hammond. Together with Hammond is the vehicle’s registered owner, two
companies on insurance and trustee for bankruptcy.

According to the lawsuit papers, Hammond had been charged with different criminal
offenses right after the accident when De Piero was killed. On Nov. 26, 2006 he even
pleaded guilty of dangerous driving that caused death.

At the time of the pickup crash, papers declared that Hammond was driving in a
reckless manner and very high speed rate.

De Piero’s death caused acute physical and emotional shock for his family.
