Ottawa, ON – June 11, 2007 – Halogen Software Inc., the leading provider of
Web-based employee performance and talent management software, today announced that
many of its new customers are reducing vendor dependency and risk with the flexible
deployment options that are available with their award-winning solution. New
customers, Carhartt Inc., TU Group and Bermello Ajamil & Partners selected Halogen’s
offering based on its proven flexibility and functionality, as well as the low risk
‘on-choice’ deployment options it provides.

While ‘on-demand’ solutions, which are hosted by vendors, are popular, many
organizations continue to require on-premise deployments for a number of security,
administrative and business reasons. Halogen provides an ‘on-choice’ model where
customers can select the deployment as well as the licensing model that best suits
their organization’s specific needs.

Carhartt, a leading manufacturer of best-in-class work wear, selected Halogen
eAppraisal to replace its existing paper-based employee appraisal system. “We
selected the Halogen system based on its powerful features, which met and exceeded
our needs. Additionally, they were able to offer us the option of deploying
on-premise so we could maintain control of our HR systems. Having a choice means we
are not tied into a single deployment method and we can switch if our situation
calls for it. This ultimately reduces our long–term risk.” said Katrina Agusti,

Leading architectural and engineering firm Bermello, Ajamil & Partners, was looking
for a standalone, flexible solution to replace their existing package. “We looked
at a number of solutions, and Halogen not only had more advanced features—it was

and know-how to make configurations in a timely manner. Because of this, we are
confident hosting the system on-premise. We have ‘full ownership’ of the system and
