Cooking with Denay, private cooking classes for the novice cook

Released on = December 11, 2006, 12:30 pm

Press Release Author = Detra Denay Davis

Industry = Food & Beverage

Press Release Summary = Cooking with Denay is committed to helping new cooks learn
the tricks of the trade and develop basic cooking skills and techniques; along with
online support for those new to the wonderful world of cooking.

Press Release Body = Cary, North Carolina (PRWEB) December 11, 2006 – Are you too
embarrassed to take a cooking class? Are you ashamed that everyone will know that
you really don’t know a bag of beans about cooking? Help has arrived in the form of
“Cooking with Denay,” a cooking instructor who specializes in working with “the
novice, and not so novice cook.”

Detra Denay Davis (a.k.a.) Cooking with Denay provides private and public cooking
lessons to Triangle Residents. She provides individual instruction and will teach
the novice cook how to bake, sauté or prepare a pot of Louisiana Gumbo. The goal is
to create culinary magic and have fun doing it.

She reminds us affectionately “…an experienced cook knows countless little tricks
and secrets; while the novice cook must start from scratch and discover that even
the most complex dish is still prepared one step at a time.”

Truly no stranger to the culinary field, Denay has been a cook, food stylist, and
caterer, pastry assistant, cooking instructor and all round food enthusiast for more
than forty years. “I remember sending off for a free cookbook using the label off a
Campbell soup can at the ripe old age of ten.

Denay insist that each student create their own style of cooking and believes,
“cooking is not just about food, it’s about memories and having fun in the kitchen.
Denay is currently teaching cooking and food history classes for the Wake County
Public School System Lifelong Learning Program and at the Cedar Fork Community
Center in Morrisville, North Carolina.

According to Denay, “it is not how often you cook, but how well you cook that really
matters. If you just have a few deliciously sinful recipes under your belt, you
will always be able to experience a divine dine.”
