Hard Creek intersects 71 meters of 0.4% Ni near surface
( Vancouver) – Mark Jarvis, President of Hard Creek Nickel Corporation today
released analytical results from 17 diamond drill holes (DDH), totaling 4,763
meters, from the ongoing drill program at its 100% owned Turnagain Project, located
70 km east of Dease Lake in British Columbia. Drilling continues with three drill
rigs and core from an additional 18 holes is being analyzed by Acme Laboratory in
Vancouver.
Mineralization comprises disseminated to blebby intercumulus pyrrhotite and
pentlandite, with local net-textured intervals, hosted by dunite and wehrlite of the
Turnagain ultramafic complex. The total nickel values reported below include nickel
in both sulphide and non-sulphide minerals.
Six of the reported core holes were drilled to the northwest of the Horsetrail
deposit to test for extensions to the known nickel mineralization delineated between
1970 and 2003. All of these holes intersected mineralization with DDH 06-126
encountering a zone of higher nickel grades, near surface, as follows:
DDH 06-126: 494.9 m, from 6.5 – 501.4 m @ 0.234 % Ni
including 115.5m, from 6.5 – 122m @ 0.33% Ni
including 71.5 m, from 6.5 – 78m @ 0.40% Ni
including 40 m, from 38 – 78 m. @ 0.53% Ni
”We are very encouraged by the results from holes 06-126 and 127,” said Mr. Jarvis.
“We are preparing seven additional drill sites in order to further evaluate this
area.”
Drill hole locations can be viewed on a plan map at
http://www.hardcreeknickel.com/drill2006.htm. Holes from the Northwest area are
summarized below:

DDH 06-120 was drilled between the conceptual Horsetrail pit and the Northwest pit
to test for continuity and is reported below:

DDH’s 06-113 to 06- 116 were drilled as infill holes within the conceptual
Horsetrail pit:
Hole # From (m) To (m) Length (m) Ni % Co %

DDH’s 06-109 to 06-112 and holes 06-117 and 06-118 were drilled along the north and
northeast edges of the conceptual Horsetrail pit. Grades thin out in this direction
and these holes may indicate the limit of the Horsetrail deposit in this direction.

DDH 06-119 was drilled along the southern edge of the conceptual Horsetrail pit.
06-119 No significant intervals

True widths are estimated to be approximately 80 percent of reported core intervals.
Samples for analysis were 4 metres in length of split NQ- size core. Reference pulps
with known nickel and copper values were inserted every 25 core samples and rock
blanks inserted every 30 samples to monitor laboratory performance as part of the
QC/QA program.
Total nickel, copper, cobalt and sulphur values were determined by ICP emission
spectrometry following four acid digestion of a representative pulp sample. All
analytical work was conducted by Acme Analytical Laboratories Ltd., an ISO 9001
registered facility, located in Vancouver. ALS Chemex, an ISO 9001 registered
facility, also located in Vancouver, is carrying out check analyses on ten percent
of the samples.
